Aukční síň Sotheby´s nabízí ve své Večerní aukci Impresionistů a moderního umění 1. března 2017 tento nádherný obraz od Gustava Klimta. Jedná se o mimořádné dílo, které patří do souboru prací, které Klimt vystavil roku 1908 na Kunstschau ve Vídní, kdy se po opuštění Vídeňské secese roku 1905 po třech letech vrátil na veřejnost. Na Kunstschau měl Klimt vlastní místnost, ve které bylo vystaveno celkem 16 obrazů. Architekturu celé výstavy navrhoval Josef Hoffmann.
Ke Květinové zahradě napsal Johannes Dobai:
„In Flower Garden the basic motif is a kind of floral pyramid; the triangular shape – which tends to have a condensing effect – contains an abundance of flowers and leaves, all of varying size, colour, luminosity and characteristics; it contains a ‚multiplicity in simplicity‘. The positioning of these elements follows the ‚rule‘ of uncultivated, untamed nature – accident and agglomeration. Just as the seeds are carried away at the whim of the wind, so the blossoms grow in distorted clusters, although occasionally there is as rigorous a geometry about them as there is about the square of the painting itself. Bottom right, for instance, there is a group comprising four flowers; three of them lie horizontally at equal distance from one another, while above the third flower on the right there floats a fourth of the same species. In other clusters there is a similar dialectical interplay between geometry and disorder. Zajímavostí je, že Květinová zahrada byla již roku 1910 vystavována v Praze na výstavě Deutsch-Böhmischer Kunstlerbund.2)Svaz česko-německých umělců. V Prager Tagblatt kritika dílo ocenila a pak jej zakoupila pražská Národní galerie, kde byla do roku 1968. Zajímalo by mě, jak se dílo za Komunistů dostalo ven. V raných 70. letech obraz získal Švýcar, která ho prodal roku 1994 v Christie´s. Údajně se spousta různých uměleckých předmětů prodala přes Artii ven. Otázka je, do jaké míry to bylo v pořádku. Myslím, že dnes by byl tento obraz v NG chloubou.
DOPLNĚNÍ:
Nebyl jsem jediný, koho zaujal osud tohoto obrazu. Na webu Artplus vyšel článek Terezy Koucké, která zašla do archivu NG a zjistila podrobnosti ohledně vývozu roku 1968. Do jaké míry do osudu promluvili srpnové události 68 je ovšem stále nejasné.
